Sorry folks, for some reason it seems my second entry never uploaded. This is a continuation of my previous entry regarding SB1345, Virginia Interfaith Power and Light’s own energy efficiency bill.
For a typical bill, there are six major hurdles:

CSA programs are harder and harder to find because of their rising popularity and yummy fresh veggies. We have just heard of a new CSA that is enrolling families with drop offs throughout Central Virginia. If you are looking for CSA program be sure to look up Frog Bottom Farm.

This General Assembly session, Virginia Interfaith Power and Light shifted slightly from our usual practice of tracking environmental bills, and actually introduced our own piece of legislation. This was Senate Bill 1345, an energy efficiency bill put in by Senator Wagner.

Virginia Interfaith Power & Light is now scheduling screenings of Fighting Goliath, a movie by Robert Redford that follows the story of Texans fighting a high-stakes battle for clean air. The film introduces the unlikely partners—mayors, ranchers, CEOs, community groups, legislators, lawyers, and citizens—that came together to oppose the construction of 19 conventional coal-fired power plants that were slated to be built in Eastern and Central Texas and that were being fast-tracked by the Governor.
